With the beautiful Sedona mountains as a backdrop, this par 70 is pretty to look at and quite challenging with plenty of trees and high reeds to deal with, not to mention elongated bunkers and meandering rivers/creeks over which you will have to hit shots to reach the greens.
The front 9 starts with the par-5 1st hole, with a tee shot over a twisting river (with, unfortunately, a few trees planted in it !) landing onto a winding fairway and a tough approach over more trees, partially hiding the green, surrounded by three big bunkers.
After the par-3 2nd hole, and its blind tee shot over a big elongated pond, and the right dogleg par-4 3rd, with a winding creek flown over twice in order to reach the green (surrounded by… dwarf trees !), five of the last six holes are left doglegs !
On the par-4 4th hole, you will need to hit a tee shot over a U-shaped creek, before “enjoying a break” on the very tough par-3 5th, with a blind tee shot over trees flying over a winding river twice in the direction of the hidden green.
Then, after the par-4 6th, with a tee shot over the twisting creek, you will move on to another left dogleg, the par-4 7th, with a tee shot landing between trees (on the left) and a small creek (midway, on the right) and an approach toward the green, surrounded by a big bunker in front and with more water behind.
Out of the last two left doglegs, the par-4 8th and the short par-5 9th, I prefer the latter, quite challenging with a tee shot over water branching out left and right, and a long approach toward the green, with a big mound (on the right) and quite hard to reach on your second shot...
Two of the first three holes, on the back 9, are par-3s, starting with the pretty downhill 10th hole, with a blind tee shot over a small pond in the middle of the fairway, followed by the beautiful par-4 11th, with a meandering river over which you will have to hit your tee shot (with tall trees in the way) and your approach to get to the green, and the par-3 12th, with a blind tee shot over a winding lake downward to the green.
Other standout holes are the right dogleg par-5 13th, with a blind tee shot over deep rough, landing between trees (on the left) and a meandering river (on the right), and a long second shot over water again in the direction of the steeply-elevated green, and the short par-4 15th, with a tee shot over a serpentine river, landing onto an elevated fairway (with big sandy areas on both sides) and a short downhill approach over the water again to reach the green, framed by two elongated bunkers.
You will finish your round with the picturesque and straight par-4 16th hole (seen on the above picture) with a tee shot landing onto an island fairway, lined up with trees, and a second shot dropping onto an island green, before walking over to the par-3 17th, with a blind and downhill tee shot over a wide lake, landing onto an elevated green, and the left dogleg par-4 18th, with a blind tee shot over a high hill, filled with trees and high reeds, and a second shot toward the green.
Overall, despite some nice vegetation (beautiful red flowers, unusual... dwarf trees near the greens), you might feel a little bit claustrophobic, at times, with plenty of thick trees in the way of some of your shots on this Dragon at Sedona course, nicely-designed by filb120870, despite a couple of displaying bugs...

Hi Filb:

Hope all is going well with you.

I played your, "Dragon at Sedona Course," this morning and although I thought that you have some very unique, interesting hole layouts and the course played pretty well, I also saw some areas that I felt could be improved upon.

I have been testing courses for more then 5 years now and if you wish, I would be happy to test your betas before you release them.

Please send me a P.M. with your E-mail address and I will send you my website address.

Thanks and I look forward to your reply.

Have a great day.

When I first saw the Name, I flashed back to a nightmare I had back in my TW07 days of a course called Emerald Dragon, which I dubbed 'The dragon I couldn't Tame.' However this dragon was quite Tame and enjoyable to play.

I Birdied the first 3 holes then screwed up on the 4th I ended up in the rough on my tee shot and then tried to power out with a 5 wood which led to disaster. I double bogeyed that one. Then a few more birds and a couple pars later at the 14th I hit my Tee shot into a tree and again it went down hill from there, another double bogey.

All in all I shot 11 birds and scored a 63 (-7) using of course my standard ideal testing conditions. This one get a high rating from me.(as if my opinion matters, LOL).

And I guess the logo problem is already been noted so I wont mention that again.

Windows Vista Home Premium SP1-32bit : , 2.30 GHz AMD Athlon 64x2-4400 : 2GB Ram : Nvidia GeForce 8600 GTS

My personal rule for putting: If it looks straight, shoot it straight- 7 times out of 10, itll go in. However if there is any contour at all- screw it, itll be a 2 putt Par :D

I played the first couple of holes and looks very good so far.
Will play the rest later.

I would like to see the logo and the splash screen fixed though, that would complete the package.

Peace
