A delightful course, with water coming into play on 16 holes (!), with nice small stone walls around some greens, and with plenty of challenging shots over wide lakes and some tough decisions to make, club-wise, to reach the (often) sloped and/or undulating greens, next to the lakes.
After the opening left dogleg par-4 hole, with its wide fairway and its approach shot to the green over an elongated lake, I like the very picturesque par-4 2nd, straight but with 8 (!) wide bunkers, slightly to the left, and a very tough approach to the peninsula green, with a tiny island on the right (and its lone tree), and the par-5 3rd hole, with a tee shot landing near an elongated lake on the right, leaving you with a long approach shot over it to reach the green, slightly to the right.
The par-3 4th hole, with a tee shot over a lake to reach the undulating green is nice too, just like the straight par-4 5th where, with a wide lake in front and the fairway, bending around to the right, you will have to think twice about trying to reach the green or play it safe...
Then, after the par-4 6th hole, with a tee shot over a wide lake landing near 11 (!) bunkers on the left, and a sloped green, slightly to the right, you will move on to the pretty par-3 7th, with a few tall trees on the right, near the tee box, and a slightly-downhill tee shot over the lake (with a nice little covered bridge on the right) landing onto a small green, with a bunker right behind.
The par-5 9th hole, on another hand, is the first hole without water and is quite straight with a downhill tee shot landing near plenty of bunkers on both sides of the fairway, and with an elevated green.
The back 9 is tougher with some gorgeous holes too, starting with the very challenging par-5 11th, with a straight tee shot landing near a wide lake and a second shot over it to the left (and a short approach to the green on the right), and continuing with the nice left dogleg par-4 14th, with an uphill tee shot and a downhill approach to the sloped green over an elongated lake, and the beautiful par-3 15th hole, with an island green in the middle of a wide lake, with a little slope on the left and a small bunker in front, on the right.
Two sharp doglegs follow : to the right, with the par-5 16th hole, with a blind and downhill tee shot landing onto a fairway, hugging the lake on the left, and another blind and long approach over a small mound to reach the green, on the edge of the lake, and to the left, with the par-4 17th, with a very wide lake facing the tee box, “forcing” you to hit your tee shot way to the right, before finishing with the “waterless” and easier par-4 18th hole, with a downhill tee shot and a green, slightly to the right, next a nice house on the left.
Overall, on this TPC at Avondale North course, well-designed by plawlor, you will have to be very patient to avoid all those water hazards if you want to score well on this very challenging course which, strangely, was switched from "real" in 2007 to "fantasy" in TW08.

Yup, scorecard yardages are goofy, but the course sure isnt!
Excellent course (and I voted same).
One needs to pay attention to all aspects (lie, direction, wind, target, and so on) in order to score well.
Same can be said of the South course.
Yes, both are similar, and there is an abundance of water, but that is what makes these two particular courses special.
