First of all, with a course named like this, don’t play with a lot of wind or you might lose your concentration while putting (ha, ha) !
After a nice opening par-4 hole, slightly downhill all the way and with a fairway hugging a small serpentine creek on the left, and a par-3 2nd, with dead trees along the river on the left, you will move later on to the nice right dogleg par-4 4th hole, uphill all the way and with a blind approach to the green over a small mound (filled with a few trees) and with the river running behind the green to watch for.
Then, after the right dogleg par-5 5th hole, with a downhill tee shot landing near some old small stone houses on the left of the fairway, midway, and a second shot toward the elevated green, guarded by a couple of bunkers, you will need to hit a blind and uphill tee shot to reach the green of the par-3 6th hole.
The par-4 7th hole is a little bit tricky as it is short but reaching the downhill green with your driver is not easy with a small elongated bunker in front of it, unlike on the downhill par-5 8th where, despite four bunkers on the left, halfway, you should be able to reach the green on your second shot… if you can avoid all the bunkers surrounding it (with an elongated bunker in front, on the left, and three small ones on the right, especially).
You will then finish with the par-4 9th hole, uphill all the way, with a tee shot over the river, crossing the fairway midway, and an approach to the green, with more bunkers to deal with.
Coming back, I like the more wide-open right dogleg par-5 11th hole, quite challenging with an uphill tee shot and a blind and very long second shot downward to the green, with a meandering creek crossing in front (filled with plenty of reeds and nice vegetation around).
The par-3 12th hole is very scenic with a tee shot over a serpentine creek crossing the fairway diagonally and plenty of tall dead trees on the right, whereas, on the par-5 14th, you will have to avoid a small bunker in the middle of the narrow (and downhill) fairway if you want to reach the green on your second shot, just like on the par-4 15th hole, with two more bunkers in the middle and an elevated and undulating green, with some nice stone houses and a windmill on the left.
The par-3 16th is another very pretty hole, with a tee shot over the narrowest past of a small lake on the right of the green (with a few dead trees on its edge in the back) and a small stone house behind, and so is the left dogleg par-4 18th, with an uphill tee shot landing near some bunkers midway, and with an elevated green, with a small pond, filled with reeds all around, in front, to watch for...
Nicely designed by Eaglphan, this par 72 offers quite a few interesting and challenging holes, with slight elevation changes, water hazards and some nice old houses to look at, but don't expect to see any Amish or Scottish men/women walking by on this original course !
