A scenic course with a few snow-capped mountains as a backdrop which plays very smoothly.
With subtle elevation changes, a few ponds and some well-placed bunkers, this hilly par 72 is quite enjoyable, while not being overly difficult.
On the front 9, my favorite holes are the left dogleg par-5 2nd, with a pond on the left side near the green, the straight par-3 4rd hole, not too difficult but with a nice view of the mountain in front, the par-5 5th, very pretty with its meandering creek and the par-4 9th hole, slitghtly to the right, with a downhill tee shot, a very wide bunker midway and more bunkers near the uphill green (and the clubhouse behind).
Coming back, I like the slightly downhill left dogleg par-5 11th hole with a lake to the right and also flowing in front of the green, the scenic par-3 12th, with a tall tree on the left side of the tee box and a small pond on the left.
Other noteworthy holes are the par-4 13th, with the fairway between a creek on the left side and bunkers on the right, and the two left doglegs, the par-5 15th hole, slightly downhill with bunkers on the right side, and the par-4 18th, with a slightly downhill green too.
With nice trees all around a small hilly landscape, this well-designed course by Herschel Dirtwater looks real and is a beautiful course to keep.

P.S. Two small things: there is a big grainy patch between the horizon and the plot on the par-4 14th hole (at least with TW07), and a small... typo on the name of the course and on the scoreboard (fellow"h"ship)...

Outstanding design, looks and plays beautifully and a brilliant layout. If this isn't a perfect design it's real damn close. Absolutely loved it! (I just browsed through the older comments and noted the years.. to me it's a hidden accolade that so many belated, positive comments have come, staggered over the years.) Bravo HD and cheers!

Not quite 8 years old, but it's ever so strong! A great entry in the Dirtwater Dynasty...

A masterpiece! A very good design ; it's a pleasure to play that course and it really smooth with my old computer. There's nothing to complain about this course.

Absolutely, positively perfect as far as I am concerned. I am glad you didn't finish before TW08. This course reminds me of home. It could be anywhere between Colorado Springs and Denver. I am sure I see Pikes Peak, Mount Evans, and Longs Peak in the pano. Great job.

My only diagreement with MachLz1 is that saying it rivals EA courses is an understatement. I felt at the very least it is on a par with them, and in some respects its superior. Wonderful job!

I had only played the front nine when this course was first released. Finally had a chance to play the entire 18 and have to whole heartedly agree with the coment by MachLz1. Everything about this course fits like a glove and is expertly created. I always look forward to your designs Herschel, and I think this one is definitely your best since the revamp of TW in 07.

Well, let me be the first to comment on this one. Magnificent!!! Your courses are hands down among the best on the site. Ultra realistic. Some of your courses rival the EA stock courses. Thanks again HD.
