Another enjoyable course from Bruce Ryder, with a few narrow and some wide fairways but with quite a few sharp doglegs and some water hazards to deal with.
My favorite holes on the front 9 are the left dogleg par-5 3rd, with an elongated bunker to the right, midway, and a green, surrounded by trees, the pretty par-3 5th, with a small elongated lake, midway to the right (ending past the green), and the tricky right dogleg par-4 9th, a right dogleg where you will have to be careful with your tee shot if you don’t want to land your ball into the wide lake, halfway, and over which you will have to hit your approach to reach the green.
The back 9 has some nice holes too, especially near the end, with the straight and pretty par-4 14th, with a tee shot landing short of another wide lake and a delicate approach to the narrow green, the straight par-4 15th, with a lone tree in the middle of the fairway, halfway, the left dogleg par-4 17th, with a small bunker all across the fairway midway and a slightly-elevated green, and the very long left dogleg par-5 18th, where you can forget about getting an eagle, with a few small bushes across the fairway, two-thirds of the way, and a green, almost surrounded by water.
Nicely designed, with some sparsely-planted trees but well-placed (and over which you will have to hit quite a few shots), this par 72 is quite long, and you will finish on your... knees, with that last par-5 hole, before heading for the nice clubhouse, behind the green.
