Somewhere to the Southeast of the Emerald City lies the palace of Salmonella, the slightly wicked witch of the Southeast, whose specialty is giving the people of Oz mild tummy aches. To punish her for her slightly evil deeds, Ozma has confiscated the lands around her palace, which curiously resembles the clubhouse of the famous Loch Lomond golf course, and turned them in a country club for all the folk of Oz to enjoy.
Among them, rather surprisingly, is Santa Claus, who owns a little shed on the West side of the course, where he magically prepares his Christmas presents, the North Pole being too chilly in the festive season. Although not a golfer himself, he can occasionally be glimpsed watching the shenanigans of the players. Dorothys house, as transported from Kansas, is also present.
The course is set up for tournament play, that means it should be played in dry or very dry conditions. |
